2017 Expectations

Welcome to the year 2017, it promises to be fan, exciting and very interesting. In 2016 we had the grand tour start, we saw the 918 Spyder, LaFerrari and the P1 go head to head, we also witnessed Nico Rosberg win Formula 1 and saw so many cars, wonderful things they could do and things they came with, these are memories to hold on to. However, this is 2017 and it promises to surprise us the more, so let's look at some of the things in store for us this year, this is just a very few of what to expect in the coming year.


1. 2017 Jaguar XE

This car is still new in the Jaguar family replacing the X-type. Its sporty looks coupled with its great British engineering and its newness makes this car one to look out for this year. Hope it upholds the proper Jaguar spirit and make it more exciting for those who can't afford a F-Type yet, who still want some good old fashion Jaguar fun. 

This is truly one to look out for and thankfully, it is sold here in Ghana.


2. 2017 Fiat 124 Spider

 A modern 50 year old icon brought back, the Fiat 124 Spider. A keen contender to the Mazda Miata, it places it in a position where it is forced to do very well, so we have got our eyes on it. It look very modern and from what we know, it is quite modern. 

I must admit, its not bad looking at all. Its Italian, looks good and is perky. It follows its sister the Fiat 500 Abarth, so now you understand why we have our eyes on it.


3. 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia

Looks good doesn't it? That's the thing with the Italians but Alfa Romeo isn't just any ordinary Italian. They have been able to make some really good cars, at least good looking cars. You can get a 2.0L Turbocharged 4 cylinder in-line engine which will give you somewhere around 280hp which isn't meager but for more oomph you can get the V6 also Turbocharged which you give you a juicy 505hp. But performance aside, this is one for the eyes and we are looking forward to seeing this car soon.

 Being Italian its crafted with passion and technology too. It has a center console mounted dial select with DNA written on it, which isn't something related to biology or maybe it is, the biology of Alfa Romeo. So far its got its competitors shaking in their boots; Mercedes Benz C-Class, Audi A4 and BMW 3 series. This is going to be interesting...........



4. 2017 Nissan GT R

The Nissan GT-R is entering 2017 excited. To the ordinary eye, this looks exactly like how it has looked all this while but to the GT-R lovers, you will notice that its looks has been refreshed and things look a bit different. This car has been one that stole the heart of the world during its birth and we love it. Its here because we love it and we always love things that have been refreshed.

I think its looking a bit more boxy yet appealing, with all the automobile witchcraft and technologies. Power has been increased and dashboard has been a bit edited. This is one Japanese we love and will always want to see even in this year 2017 and still a very good driver's daily supercar.



















5. 2017 Lincoln Continental

When it comes to luxury cars, we look to Europe first and usually forget about, well, America. But the name Lincoln has been a very formidable name when it comes to luxury in the US and apparently in the world. Making this car one to really want this year. Fitted with so many technologies, driver's aid and fancy things to make luxury real to you, the Lincoln Continental is a promising way to enjoy luxury the American way.

 Safe to say this is perhaps the Rolls Royce or Bentley (oh no none of those) rather the E-Class of US.



6. 2017Toyota 86

This to me is a proper Japanese fun toy. On paper, it really doesn't sound interesting at all but when in motion, it tells a different story. However, the 2017 model comes with some upgrades they claim and we are dying to see it on our roads.

For so much less, you can have all the fun you would in a high end performance car or a tuned car, this is a joyous everyday car to think about.



7. 2017 Toyota C-HR

Intended to be a Scion but ended up being a Toyota, this happens to be some sort of extreme exterior design test from Toyota. I wouldn't say its very catchy but it will turn heads to wonder "what in all that is beautiful is that?" I honestly can't find the words now to describe the exterior, so when I do, I will post on this car. But then, its see how it will do this year.

Toyota found its way to the hearts of many in Ghana and still holds some sway over some people. With these sort of designs we really are keen to see how it will do.

8. 2017 Mazda CX 9

Mazda has been impressive, with cars like the RX-7 and RX-8 and the Miata and all, they have made cars that easily sip into the very fabric of cars, but they have done that discreetly. The Mazda 3 is one that is very likeable and efficient. Now we have this, the CX-9. Its a big SUV which drives with all the good feeling you would want, making it one car we can't wait to see and have this year.

If its a sensible family car you want, you can add this to your list of cars you may be thinking of buying.

9. 2017Audi Q2
  

The SUV trend is fast growing nowadays, which is quite shocking. With the introduction of the F-Pace, it tells us that car makers are really looking in that direction. However, the Germans are not new to this sort of thing, they have given us very good SUVs. Welcome everybody to the Audi Q2. 

Its German so expect it to be no nonsense yet have some sort of joyless precision. Why we are looking forward to this car? Well, we had the Q3, Q5 and Q7 from Audi and well, we are keen on seeing what this will offer.




10. 2017 Tesla Model 3
Who said electricity can not be fun? Well, get electrocuted on purpose briefly and see the thrill and adrenaline you will experience. Am sure that is the same sort of feeling you will get with this car only that it will be a bit more safe and refined. I have seen an electric car beat a monstrous and powerful V8 engine. But hey no matter what they do with electric car............ This car is supposed to go into production this year and we can't wait. Most importantly, I can't wait to see one on the streets of Accra 😆😄. 

You have got to admire the design though. Its sleek and appealing and quite futuristic. If you are thinking that people haven't gotten the hang of electric cars, you are wrong, see the number of reservations? And this isn't even a current picture, but then again we are more than 6 billion in the world. Oh well, lets see how its copes and probably beat more of the internal combustion engines.




11. 2017 Chevrolet Bolt EV

Quite honestly, the first thing that comes to mind when you mention Chevy is Bumblebee, so it is quite hard to think of other more sensible models they make like the Cruze and Malibu and Tahoe etc. They make small cars too and with that I mean the appalling Spark and that brings us neatly to this particular one. This is electric and makes you wonder.............. With the emergence of small EVs like the BMW i3, Nissan Leaf, the Bolt EV is stepping into an Electric warfare and by the look of things, it might stand a chance after all. We will have to wait and see. Nonetheless, this car is one good car, only problem I see with it is, its fuel source.

  Lets see a Camaro EV........ that would be something to look forward to. They say production will start later this year. Will keenly follow up on this car.





12. 2017 Subaru Impreza

The yob is being refined. Thats all I can say about this car really. We will have to see how refined it has been, how much of a good boy it is now or whether it still has some bad boy attributes somewhere in there. Oh crap, I am rather talking about the WRX.🙈😶🙈. Its still in the family........

I think I am now forced to put up the WRX next........














13. 2017 Subaru WRX and the WRX STI 

This is it, oh sorry, you can't see it properly right? Hold on a minute........

So, do you think it is refined?

It might look refined but it definitely isn't refined inside but that is why we want it all the more.......2017.........





 14. 2017 BMW Z5

This is going to be a game changer when it comes on sale. The Z4 was very good, and when the Germans say they are going to make something better, they do, case in point the Mercedes SLS to the AMG GTs. This is all I have on this for now, looking forward to this car big time.







15. 2017 Wrangler Pickup

Yes, they really are going to make this. In case you're confused, they took a Wrangler, cut it in a strange manner, put a tire by the side and they think its awesome. Well, I will wait till when they start selling and see how awesome it really is.

16. 2017 Lexus LS

Lexus have mastered the art of making really good luxury cars and this is one to watch out for. The LS is long and sleek and well equipped and luxurious as well.

That is the way of the Japanese..........



17. The Ferrari J50

Speaking of Japanese, we have one here. Well when I say one here I mean one specially made for the Japan market. To celebrate 50 years of Ferraring in Japan, they made this one...... They sure know how to celebrate these people. Looks sweet, almost challenging the LaFerrari's look.

18. Lamborghini Urus

This is the long awaited bull Lamborghini promised the world and they say they will start production this year. It goes on to tell us how the SUV craze is caught on and surprisingly, the hybrid craze as well. 

Porsche, Ferrari and McLaren have taken the hybrid technology and made hypercars out of them. Lamborghini however is saying this will be the only hybrid in their family. Nonetheless, we can expect savagery and drama from this car, Lamborghini isn't know for practicability so we wouldn't look there much but we will look forward to this car very much.
